NOCT Extra 2 - Scars and WoundsThe room was painted in soft pastels and carpeted in dark green-gray. Presumably it was supposed to be green, Jaden notes distantly. That would better match the attempt at recreating a lush forest evidenced by the sky design on the roof and the childish apple trees on the walls. He was almost ready to walk out and forget the expense and any notions of ‘doing good’. A purebred specimen would be so much easier to work with. A beleaguered volunteer trailed behind, making ever more desperate sales pitches. Each is nearly identical in format and tone, only varying by subject, and he wonders if the kid has noticed yet.
